Welcome to Battisford Playgroup

A combination of community involvement, highly experienced and qualified staff, and a safe and happy environment for learning, makes Battisford Playgroup the ideal starting point for your child’s educational journey.

Battisford Playgroup is a small and friendly community-based playgroup, set up more than 25 years ago to meet the needs of this rural area. It operates in Battisford Community Centre, and can provide places for up to 20 children. It boasts established links with Combs Primary School and Battisford Parent and Toddlers Group.

The Playgroup is registered and regularly inspected by Ofsted. It is also a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance (PLA). We also operate as part of Suffolk County Council’s Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership which enables eligible children in our care to receive Government funding.

Qualified and dedicated staff members are employed to plan the curriculum, manage and run the sessions, but ultimately the Playgroup belongs to the people that use it. They are responsible for the way it is organised and elect a committee from the parents/carers of those attending the playgroup or toddler group to represent them.

It is this combined approach that makes Battisford Playgroup such a special place.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

A safe and happy introduction to learning…

At Battisford Playgroup your child’s welfare and happiness is our first consideration. In addition, we offer an environment that provides the mental and physical stimulation without which children cannot develop to their full potential.

We believe a safe and happy introduction to learning while at playgroup helps children to integrate easily and comfortably into their next stage of education.
